He was thinking about the meaning – or lack of – in his life.
All the sacrifices he had made for something bigger than himself…

Scarlet:
Scarlet was out for a walk in the woods. She was thinking about her life and its meaning – or lack of.
Her life was simple. She ate simply, dressed simply, spoke simply.
But her head was full of stories.
She can go where ever she wants, but she always ends up going to the same place.

I’m enjoying these little character studies of yours and the vignettes you create for them. Both Bruce and Scarlet are reflecting on important aspects of life. I think it’s important to reevaluate our life’s direction and purpose from time to time. Interestingly, it was a series of thoughts just like Bruce’s that led to my husband suggesting we explore the possibility of emigrating. We never know where life might take us when we ask ourselves these questions.
I’m happy where I am right now, thanks! 😀 I did feel a bit like Bruce a few years ago, though… I’m glad I left that behind!
